Modulation Recovery and Image Reconstruction in Cartesian Parallel Magnetic Resonance Imaging: a Structural Study by Parameterization
نویسندگان
چکیده
Parallel Magnetic Resonance Imaging allows to reduce image acquisition time by subsampling the data in k-space using an array of surface coils. The subsampling using surface coils results in modulated and aliased images which have to be post-treated to reconstruct the image. In this paper we perform a structural study for simultaneous recovery of the unknown coil sensitivities and reconstruction of the image by using parameterized sensitivities. We investigate the minimal requirements for the reconstruction of the image and provide qualitative results about the optimal placement of the coils with respect to the direction of folding due to the Cartesian subsampling.

Parallel spectroscopic imaging reconstruction with arbitrary trajectories using k-space sparse matrices.
Parallel imaging reconstruction has been successfully applied to magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging (MRSI) to reduce scan times. For undersampled k-space data on a Cartesian grid, the reconstruction can be achieved in image domain using a sensitivity encoding (SENSE) algorithm for each spectral data point. Alternative methods for reconstruction with undersampled Cartesian k-space data are...
متن کاملImprovements in multislice parallel imaging using radial CAIPIRINHA.
Multislice parallel imaging involves the simultaneous sampling of multiple parallel slices which are subsequently separated using parallel imaging reconstruction. The CAIPIRINHA technique improves this reconstruction by manipulating the phase of the RF excitation pulses to shift the aliasing pattern such that there is less aliasing energy to be reconstructed. In this work, it is shown that comb...
متن کاملDiagnosis of Meningitis Caused by Pathogenic Microorganisms Using Magnetic Resonance Imaging: A Systematic Review
Introduction: Bacterial meningitis is an acute infectious inflammation of the protective membranes covering the brain. Its early diagnosis is vital because of its high morbidity and mortality. It is mostly diagnosed by a gold standard diagnostic tool i.e. Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) analysis. However, it is sometimes difficult and or impossible to do this procedure and an alternative diagnostic t...
متن کاملNon-uniformity of Clinical Head, Head and Neck, and Body Coils in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Introduction Signal intensity uniformity in a magnetic resonance (MR) image indicates how well the MR imaging (MRI) system represents an object. One of the major sources of image non-uniformity in high-field MRI scanners is inhomogeneity of radio-frequency coil. The aim of this study was to investigate non-uniformity in head, head and neck, and body coils and compare the obtained results to det...
متن کاملHYR2PICS: Hybrid regularized reconstruction for combined parallel imaging and compressive sensing in MRI
Both parallel Magnetic Resonance Imaging (pMRI) and Compressed Sensing (CS) are emerging techniques to accelerate conventional MRI by reducing the number of acquired data in the k-space. So far, first attempts to combine sensitivity encoding (SENSE) imaging in pMRI with CS have been proposed in the context of Cartesian trajectories. Here, we extend these approaches to non-Cartesian trajectories...
